What kind of a commitment would be required?
We ask if you could be available for occasional phone calls if SCJ is in need of your expertise and counsel. You’ll also be invited to participate in 2 virtual huddles and 1 in-person huddle each year which is completely voluntary.
How long is my term?
There are no term limits. You may serve indefinitely. So you may resign at anytime. Our desire is that you want to partner with us in helping bring community and connection to a hurting and lost world.
What is SCJ looking for in a member?
Passion for our mission…strengthening the relationship between parents and their kids.
Passion in our vision…families growing together and equipping themselves with social-emotional skills to model health and wholeness to this generation and beyond.
Passion for sharing your talents and strengths with SCJ to help further our organization’s mission and vision.
Who are members of the Advisory Council?
People we believe share SCJ’s core values and are a unified group of skilled and highly talented collaborators who we can rely on for guidance and advice.
Advisory Council to Board Member?
SCJ would consider moving Advisory Council members to the Board as vacancies become available. Placing prospective Board Member candidates on the Advisory Council first gives the Board time to develop a relationship with them and to assess their skills, commitment and capabilities before giving them a formal offer of a Board seat.
Compensation?
SCJ is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the Advisory Council members serving as volunteers, just as SCJ’s Board Members do.
